LTAA Baseball merges with North Hunterdon Youth Baseball
The LTAA Board is very excited to announce that we have merged the LTAA Baseball program with the North Hunterdon Youth Baseball program. By joining forces with NHYB we are able to provide our children with a strong program dedicated to instructing youth in baseball fundamentals, providing exposure to competitive team activity, promoting healthy physical activity, and fostering good sportsmanship and fair play. NHYB is a Cal Ripken affiliated league with over 450 participants. Its charter covers all towns in the North Hunterdon-Voorhees school district, with the exception of Tewksbury. Many Lebanon Twp. and Califon children already participate with NHYB. As we look to add over 100 new players to NHYB, we will still need coaches and other volunteers to make the program run smoothly, so please consider signing up to coach when you register your child(ren).
Games and practices will mainly be at Jericho Fields in High Bridge and Woodglen School in Lebanon Township. Stadium 31 on Route 31 is used for all Babe Ruth level games (ages 13 & up), with other community fields possibly used as needed. For the younger players (ages 4-6), we will make an effort to place several (3-5 depending on registraton numbers) LTAA players on a team so that they will continue to play with classmates but also have the opportunity to make new friends that they may eventually attend high school with. Older players (ages 7 & up) are selected through a coach’s draft, so we cannot make any promises regarding teammates (another reason to volunteer to coach). These players will have to attend player evaluations similar to what LTAA has been doing for several years. For more information and registration details please see the following welcome letter from NHYB President, George DeTorres.
This change does not affect our softball, basketball or soccer programs.
