LTAA-TAA Girl's Softball Program Description

We have made some exciting additions to our LTAA/TAA Softball program so we now have Four Divisions and Professionally run clinics for all ages before the season starts.  The divisions are:

1. Sprites (Grade K – 1)
An instructional league to introduce our K-1 girls to the basics of softball. The league will focus on the fundamentals of throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting. Hitting will be off of a Tee and Coach pitch

2. Rookies (Grades 2-3)
Girls will be playing games against LTAA/TAA teams and other neighboring towns. This will be Coach pitch, Coaches may introduce player pitchers later in season with limit of 4 pitches per batter

3. Minors (Grades 4-5)
The girls progress to full game play including Player pitch (possible coach pitch after 4 pitches). We will be playing games against LTAA/TAA teams and other neighboring towns. Umpire is used during these games.

4. Majors (Grades 6-8) Cost=$105 ($15 Late Fee)
A great league to get the girls ready for the high school level. Full game play including Player pitch and Umpires are used. We will be playing against LTAA/TAA teams and other neighboring towns.

Volunteer coaches are needed. There is information on coaching requirements on both LTAA, www.ltaanj.org and Tewksbury Athletic Association websites, www.taa-sports.org. Practices and home games will be held at fields located at Lebanon’s Woodglen School; Califon Island Park; and Tewksbury's Old Turnpike School's "Upper" and "Lower" fields.  Other field locations will be announced when the season starts.   Games will typically be played once during the week and Saturday mornings from approximately the second week in April through the middle of June. Practice schedules will be set by the coaches with an eye towards locations that are most convenient for everyone.
