SignUp Genius shows who is coming to which games. Please remember to cover yourself if you have a change of plans, and also update the signup and let your Coaches know.

Eligibility:

If you are (or were) a field hockey player, and are in high school, you are eligible to participate. Please consider signing up to be a referee for our Jr. or JV Divisions. Juniors play on a small field with 6 v 6 players using modified rules. Referees are encouraged to help players learn the sport and rules, while they referee the games. Games are on Sundays in September and October, at Valley View school between 12:00 and 3:00, lasting about an hour. JV games are on a medium sized field with 7 v 7 including a goalie, using high school rules. Referees are encouraged to maintain safe play while helping players learn the high school rules of the game.  Games are on Sundays in September and October, at Woodglen school between 1:00 and 3:00, lasting about an hour. We pay $25 per game, per ref, and need two referees per game. A ref alone gets $35.

To be fully eligible, you must register in the league, participate in a rules interpretation meeting on Aug. 20 (Franklin municipal building at 7:00 pm), learn the rules, and take a Rules Interpretation Test. If you take both the 2/4 and 5/6 exams you can ref for either division.

In addition, we strongly encourage you to participate in part or all of Play Day on Aug 25 at Brass Castle School in Washington from noon to 5:00. This is considered training so it is unpaid. However, referees attending Play Day get priority game placements and also can receive service hours credit if requested.
