COME JOIN THE FUN IN THE NEW 2017 LEBANON TWP-TEWKSBURY RECREATIONAL SOFTBALL LEAGUE!
We are excited to announce that neighboring Lebanon Township and Tewksbury Township have joined forces for recreational youth softball. While our respective programs have played against each other for years we have decided to pool our resources to offer the highest quality softball program to (1) facilitate increased player participation with competitive games and expanded schedule in a structured and safe environment; (2) offer an opportunity for players to compete against neighboring Long Valley, Bethlehem and other neighboring town teams; (3) offer interested players the chance to try-out for more competitive travel softball opportunities (Voorhees Stars); and (4) foster enduring friendships with other teammates in the Voorhees High School sending districts.
Due to this merger we are able to expand to three Divisions and include 7th-8th graders for the first time! The Divisions for next season include:
Rookies (Grades 2-3) - Coach Pitch with possibility of some player pitching as season progresses
Minors (Grades 4-5) - Player Pitch (May use Coach Pitch Rule on 4th ball if coaches agree prior to game), 11” regular softball
Majors (Grades 6-8) - Player Pitch, 12” regular softball
Registration is now open on www.ltaanj.org. No prior softball experience necessary.
Volunteer coaches are needed. There is information on coaching requirements on both LTAA, www.ltaanj.org and Tewksbury Athletic Association websites, www.taa-sports.org. Practices and home games will be held at fields located at Lebanon’s Woodglen School; Califon Island Park; and Tewksbury's Old Turnpike School's "Upper" and "Lower" fields. We will also have away games in Long Valley’s beautiful Palmer Park and Rock Spring Park in addition to the usual away game in Bethlehem Twp., NJ. Games will typically be played once during the week and Saturday mornings from approximately the second week in April through June 17. Practice schedules will be set by the coaches with an eye towards locations that are most convenient for everyone.
Lebanon-Tewksbury Recreational Softball is run by volunteers. We do not receive any funding from the municipalities. All the registration fees collected, as well as other sources of revenue for the league, are used to purchase uniforms, equipment, insurance, pay umpire fees, and maintain and improve the fields that we utilize. Any questions can be directed to program directors Jon Olson (LTAA), firstname.lastname@example.org; or Mario Colitti (TAA), email@example.com.
